Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to after an elderly woman was robbed of her handbag in Sudbury.

The victim, in her 70s, was walking along the alleyway between Winch and Blatch on Market Hill in Sudbury at around 2.10pm on April 5.

She was pushed to the shoulder from behind and her handbag, which she was carrying in a mobility walking frame, was snatched. The offender then ran off down the alleyway in the direction of the bus station.

The offender is described as a white man, approximately 5ft 9in to 5ft 10in tall, wearing a tight fitting cap or hat, a coat or top in a dirty grey/blue colour and old, scruffy trousers, possibly jeans. He has also been described as wearing a striped top.

If anyone recognises the man they are asked to contact Suffolk Police on 101 quoting the reference SU.14.623 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
