Suffolk Constabulary are appealing for witnesses after a number of burglaries in Capel St Mary over the festive period.

Three burglaries were reported to police in late December with jewellery being stolen in each case.

The first incident took place on Broom Way at some time between 10am and 10pm on December 29. Offenders forced entry to the property and stole a quantity of jewellery and cash.

Between 4pm on December 29 and 4pm on December 30 a second house was broken into, this time on Chalkners Close.

A window at the rear of the property was smashed and jewellery and cash were stolen.

The third incident took place on Rylands sometime between December 24 and December 31. Suspects forced entry to the rear of the property and stole a quantity of jewellery including a gold wedding ring and diamond and gold studded earrings.

Officers are currently exploring whether the three incidents are linked.

Police have emphasised the importance of ‘See it, Hear it, Report it’ and for members of the public to be the police’s eyes and ears on the street.

They have also asked homeowners to keep their homes locked and lit. As well as hiding valuables.

Witnesses or anybody who has any information are asked to call Police on 101 quoting 82170/17 (Broom Way), 82300/17 (Chalkners Close) or 82437/17 (Rylands)
