Police have been called to several minor collisions across Suffolk this morning as heavy fog continues to cause poor driving conditions.

Police are advising motorists to take extra care while out on the roads until the fog has lifted, which is expected to be about mid-morning today.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said: “Drive to the conditions, drive slowly, leave enough time for your journey and allow sufficient distance with the vehicle in front.”

Among the incidents reported on the county’s roads today was a collision on the A143 near Botesdale between two motorcyclists.

One of the riders was taken to hospital with serious arm and leg injuries, which have been described as “potentially life-changing”.
