Christina Johnston, who grew up in Suffolk but spent much of her recent career in the Czech capital, was asked by its government to sing for the Independent Czechoslovak State Day.

The public holiday, which marks the nation’s independence from the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918, saw Christina’s performance with the Boni Pueri boys’ choir aired on national TV.

“It was such an honour to be an honorary Czech and sing for this very important event,” she said.
