THE sub-zero temperatures have been described as being Arctic-like but how cold is Suffolk in comparison with the rest of the world?
Despite the cold weather here, Ipswich appears to be in the middle range of temperatures globally with a high in the Caribbean of 25c ranging down to a very chilly -39c in Antarctica.
This week temperatures have dropped as far as -15c in Debenham meaning it was colder here than in popular European ski resorts.
But at the moment things are comparatively mild at -1c.

Thanks for confirming that a few colder days in Suffolk are not the same as the harsh conditions of the North Pole.

A rum selection of places - how about parts of Russia for coldness and Australia right now for record heat ? Paris is similar to Ipswich most of the time anyway and Florida is well, dead wrong .

I don't know where you come up with7 for Florida, although it has been in the 80's until today, they are having a "cold " spell 69 deg for a high expected to last for a couple of days.A bit different to the 49 deg you come up with .
