The event, being held at ExCel London from January 4 to 12, will feature all that is best and new from the marine sector, including debut appearances for models including Fairline’s Targa 48 Gran Turismo and Princess Yachts’ V48.

The Targa 48 Gran Turismo is the third model in the 48-ft range from Fairline, which is based at Oundle, near Peterborough, and has a test facility at Ipswich, following the Targa 48 Open and the Squadron 48.

Visitors to the show will also be able to explore the 100th Squadron 78, one of Fairline’s most successful models, with the company’s stand featuring nine boats in all and a new concept area.

Other companies from Suffolk and north Essex exhibiting at this year’s show include Anglia Yacht Brokerage, Brunton’s Propellers, Clarke & Carter, Jeckells, Mantsbrite, Suffolk Yacht Harbour and Viking Mouldings.

Also at the show will be America’s Cup winner and multi-Olympic gold medallist Sir Ben Ainslie whose JP Morgan BAR AC45 catamaran will be on display.

Visitors will also be able to take part in a range of activities from canoeing to stand-up paddleboarding in free taster sessions, and to watch top sailors compete in regattas in the dock area alongside the ExCel centre.

Taking place alongside the 2014 London Boat Show is the Telegraph Cruise Show, which runs from January 10 to 12 and is open free of charge of holders of tickets for the main boat show.

  • Will it be as dire as 2013? Hardly anyone was there, maybe because it's in the wrong place!
