Emergency services were called to three double-vehicle collisions on Suffolk’s roads during the morning rush-hour today.

Following a crash involving two cars on the A134 in Nayland at 8.05am, two further two-vehicle accidents have been reported in the county.

Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene of a collision between two cars on the A1092 Lower Road in Glemsford at around 9am.

Two motorists were suffering from shock and fire crews were called after smoke was seen billowing from one of the vehicles involved in the incident, a Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said.

The road was left partially blocked following the accident involving a Mini and a Vauxhall Corsa.

Meanwhile a collision between a Land Rover and a Rover has caused travel disruption on the A1152 Woods Lane in Melton.

The two-vehicle crash took place at just after 9.05am.

One motorist involved in the accident complained of suffering a stiff neck, the force spokesman said.

The road was cleared by 9.50am.

It comes as hours of delays were caused around Ipswich and the A14 because a scaffolding lorry was parked across a main road, blocking one lane between 8am and 9am.
