DETECTIVES today said they are linking a series of overnight raids in Suffolk, Norfolk, and other counties where diggers have been used to rip cash machines from walls.
The latest raid occurred at a Tesco Express store in Fakenham Road, Taverham, near Norwich, around 1.15am today.
The thieves fled the scene in two vehicles, heading down the A1067 out of Norwich towards Attlebridge.
It is not clear yet whether anything has been stolen.
Earlier this year similar raids were carried out in Needham Market and Hadleigh, as well as at other locations in Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.
Detective Inspector Richard Graveling, of Norfolk Constabulary, said: “We are linking the Taverham theft with other raids in Norfolk and elsewhere in the region, and we are working with other forces as part of our enquiries.”
Anyone with information about any of the incidents should telephone police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
