Two yachts were assisted by the coastguard yesterday.

The Aldeburgh RNLI Inshore Lifeboat was tasked to help the yacht Plato at 9.18am.

The two people on board had reported they had gone aground and tried to refloat on the morning high tide unsuccessfully, and requested assistance on the evening tide.

The yacht was successfully refloated with no damage at 5pm.

The Harwich RNLI Inshore and the River Deben Ferry were tasked to assist the yacht Willow, which had broken down in the entrance to the River Deben.

The ferry towed the yacht, which had two people on board, and the lifeboat went alongside to ensure all was well.
