Forecasters say high pressure is one of the main reasons behind the glorious weather, which is expected to reach its peak on Sunday.

Dan Holley, a forecaster at Weatherquest, said the mercury is expected to hit the low to mid teens on Saturday, but it will be largely cloudy.

However on Sunday, the cloud will give way to blue skies and temperatures of between 16-18C.

Mr Holley added: “All in all it is fairly pleasant weather really.”

Temperatures next week are expected to be between the low to mid teens.

Friday’s top temperature is expected to be around 13C while on Monday, the mercury could rise to as high as 16C.
