Pictures capture an evening at The Mulberry Tree Pub in Ipswich’s Woodbridge Road in 1973
The Mulberry Tree Pub in Ipswich’s Woodbridge Road will evoke fond memories for many at the pub which is positioned at the junction of Woodbridge Road and Crown Street as these pictures were captured on a evening at the pub in 1973.
Records show it opened in the 1880s and the current building dates from 1928 when it was built to replace the original Mulberry Tree pub which stood just in front of it.
The name was changed to the Milestone Beer House in 2002, then to just “The Beer House” in early 2010 before reverting to its original name in March 2012 when it re-opened after a major refurbishment, but sadly July this year it was put up for sale by the owner and closed its doors.
