With the police and crime commissioner vote on November 15, we took to the streets to find out how much people know about the Suffolk candidates.
Samantha Mattin, 20, from Chantry, Ipswich, said: “I have no clue. I don’t know any of the candidates. I suppose it might change things a little bit, but I’m not sure. I won’t be voting.”
Adam Askew, 32, from Portman Road, Ipswich, said: “I don’t know any of them. I will vote, but I don’t know who for. It probably won’t make a difference, but it gives people a say. I will look into it more before voting.”
Ben Pocius, 29, from Woodville Road, Ipswich, said: “I’ve heard about the elections and I’m registered to vote, but I don’t know anything about the candidates.
“I will surf for information before voting.”
Jill Bailey, 33, from Ipswich, said: “I’ve got no idea. If I do vote, it’ll be close your eyes and pick a box. I don’t think it will change anything, I don’t think people really know what they do anyway, it’s all behind-the-scenes.”
Lauren Garfield, 37, from Waldringfield, said: “I know nothing about it. I think most people won’t vote because they don’t know what they’re voting for or what the candidates stand for.”
