The hunt for a missing 13-year-old girl from north-east Essex was called off last night after police found her “safe and well”.

Kathryn Goodchild was reported missing after disappearing from her home in Tiptree at 5.45pm on Tuesday.

But a spokesman for Essex Police said the teenager is now “safe and well” after making contact and meeting with officers at around 7pm yesterday.

The force spokesman thanked the media and members of the public for their help with the appeal.
