Sudbury-based mobility scooter specialist TGA has been chosen by the National Trust to provide four machines to assist visitors to its Ickworth House property near Bury St Edmunds.

The Breeze S4 models, which can travel at up to 8mph and are suitable for light off-road use, will enable people with limited mobility to explore the grounds at Ickworth, including its Walled Garden, Italianate Garden and Fairy Lake as well its extensive park and woodland, without having to rely on a wheelchair.

The scooters are in addition to a buggy which is already used to help visitors get from the car park to the main house.

Daniel Stone, managing director at TGA, said: “We are honoured to have supplied four of our flagship mobility scooters to the National Trust and Ickworth House.

“Our Breeze scooters will provide a safe and assured driving experience for visitors so they can discover all the delights of Ickworth independently or alongside their family.”

The machines are similar to the Breeze model which won an extreme mobility scooter challenge on the BBC’s Top Gear programme.
