Trains: Delays for commuters heading towards Liverpool Street due to engineering works

Train commuters heading for Liverpool Street station this morning can expect delays and cancellations to services.

The delays of around 15 minutes are due to over-running engineering works at Maryland.

Greater Anglia says train services running through Maryland may also be cancelled at short notice and that train services from Shenfield towards Liverpool Street will be subject to short notice alteration and cancellation. Delays of 20 minutes for services running through Stratford have been reported.

Some services from Liverpool Street to Ipswich and Norwich have also been cancelled this morning.

  • Your caption under the picture is "Greater Anglia's InterCity trains received high satisfaction levels" in an article where you YET AGAIN report delayed services. I know of at least 4 days with problems in the last week alone. So who gave them the "high satisfaction levels"; themselves?

  • Absolutely right Johnthebap, the only people that could possibly dream of high satisfaction levels on this shambles is Greater Anglia, sorry Abellyup Greater Anglia as they now like to call themselves (vanity lives). I have not had one trouble free day on their trains for over 2 weeks now, and not much better before that. Yesterday I travelled back from Bristol, First Great Western have absolutely appalling conditions in the West Country, yet my journey was good, well informed and friendly. The Tube across London was suffering with strikes, yet still managed to get me across to Liverpool Street efficiently. Abellyup naturally managed to double my scheduled journey time and no member of staff was seen (but admittedly was occasionally heard) throughout. The guy at Ipswich station totally ineffective and a complete waste of time ticket barriers couldn't check everybody's ticket in the surge, so just handed out Delay Repay Forms. Then to finally round off a perfect day, you get robbed at the station car park where Abellyup have quietly whacked the daily rate up to £9.70 A DAY. They are incompetent arrogant shambolic amateurs and should not be anywhere near taxpayer subsidy.
