Travel across the county continues to be badly affected by the wintry conditions

The remnants of the Beat from the East and Storm Emma are still causing problems on the county’s travel system.

Many roads across the county are still being hit badly by snow drifts, though many main roots are thought to have been cleared.

Suffolk County Council warned drivers last night to only travel if essential to avoid the freezing temperatures.

Suffolk police have received a number of calls about abandoned vehicles and cars stuck in snow drifts.

The A140 and A1120 are thought to have been particularly badly affected by snow drifts.

Police are reporting that the B1117 at Hevingham, A1078 at Gt Bricett and Clint Road in Occold are all currently closed.

Three cars are currently stuck on the B113 at Finningham and are awaiting recovery. Only 1/4 mile further down the road is a

Near Diss Golf Club on the B1077, police are reporting that a lorry is blocking the road after getting stuck.

A police spokesperson said that Wetheringsett Road is Mickfield is also causing drivers problems as they try to avoid the A140.

Train operator Greater Anglia are advising customers not to travel today unless their journey is necessary and have reported that they will be running a reduced service on their network today with some areas running a Saturday or Sunday service.

Delays and cancellations are widely expected across the network.

In Ipswich, Ipswich Buses are running some services but a number are still suspended due to the snow drifts which remain across the county.

On services that are running the company still expect delays.

First Ipswich say that services are running the same as they were yesterday.
