PASSENGERS are facing lengthy delays on the rail network due to safety checks.

All lines at Ilford are affected by the checks meaning that services running through the station may be revised at short notice and Ilford will not be served.

An estimate for the resumption of normal services will be provided as soon as the problem as been assessed.

A statement on Greater Anglia’s website said: “Ilford station has been closed while London Fire Brigade make safety checks at the station. “London Underground and TFL local buses are accepting Greater Anglia passengers.”
