Travel: Fallen tree delays motorists on southbound A12 near Stratford St Mary

11:50 22 December 2012

TWO vehicles collided with a fallen tree on the A12 on Saturday - sparking delays for motorists trying to get away for the festive break.

The tree came down on the southbound carriageway, just inside the Essex border, around 9am.

A Ford Transit van and a Peugeot 207 both hit the tree but police said no-one was injured.

But one lane of the carriageway - between junction 30 for Stratford St Mary and the turn-off for Langham - was closed while the scene was cleared.
