An Abellio Greater Anglia train at Colchester

Commuters in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex may face delays this morning after a train fault forced the cancellation of a service to London.

Abellio Greater Anglia has cancelled its 6.24am Norwich to London Liverpool Street service.

The train had been due to call at Diss, Stowmarket, Ipswich, Manningtree, Colchester and London Liverpool Street

  • The standard of so-called "service" provided by this completely inept Train Operators cannot get much worse surely? Literally Day in, Day out notifications of delays, cancellations and appalling service. I get their text advices of such things and have started keeping them as a record as people from elsewhere just can't believe its this bad. The latest common failure is shortage of trainstrain failures. Well get more trains, they are there if they are prepared to pay to hire them (which they're not!) and maintain the ones you've got better. But as always to protect bottom line for shareholders, short cuts are taken and cutbacks are made. A group of my fellow travellers and I are now seriously looking at car share on a rotation to Upminster each day and then get a reliable train from there on a Travelcard! The Dutch outfit we have should be removed without compensation, just like they treat their "customers" (plus they now have the audacity to self-promote themselves by sticking that ridiculous name "Shambellio" in front of every announcement and branding. Pathetic!)

  • Virtually every day there is some form of delay !, yet they 'massage' the figures of so called performance !, as I have said before, 'Privatisation' isn't working !, paying dividends to shareholders whilst the travelling public suffer is criminal !, and I haven't even mentioned about 'standing' all the way to Liverpool Street !, daylight robbery !

  • Is this the same set that failed on Wednesday as well? This is hardly news it is an everyday occurrence.
