Trimley: Reward offered to help catch tool thief
16:32 09 November 2012
A £500 reward is being offered today to help catch a thief who stole tools from a shed at an empty property.
The unoccupied house in Kingsbury Road, Trimley St Mary, was broken into sometime between 5pm on Thursday, November 1 and 7.20am on Friday, November 2.
While nothing was taken from the house, a shed at the property was also broken into and tools – including an angle-grinder and disc-cutter – were stolen along with a digital radio.
Now the owner of the tools is offering a £500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the burglar and the return of the stolen items.
A police spokeswoman said officers were keen to trace a man, described as around 5ft 8ins tall, of stocky-ish build, wearing a hooded top and jeans who was seen getting into a two-tone twin cab truck, with a dark top and light coloured bottom, parked in Kingsbury Road around 9.15pm on the Thursday night.
Anyone with information about the man or the vehicle, or anyone who may have been offered similar tools since, is asked to call police on 101.
