Two men arrested after a man was shot in the leg in Trimley St Mary have been bailed while further enquiries are carried out.

The 25-year-old man, from the London area, was found in Cordy’s Lane around 1pm on Saturday, December 28 with a gunshot wound to his leg.

He was taken to Ipswich Hospital for treatment before being discharged the following day.

A 27-year-old and a 25-year-old man, both from the Felixstowe area, were arrested on Friday on suspicion of GBH and were both interviewed in connection with the incident.

They have now been bailed to return to police on April 3.

It is known there were several people walking dogs in the area around the time of the shooting. Police are asking anyone who was there to get in touch by calling 101.
