Archant

An unexploded Second World War bomb has been found by a group of pigs at a Suffolk farm.

The bomb and a rifle bullet were discovered at the Saint Anton Farm in Higham Road, Tuddenham, west Suffolk, at around 1.30pm yesterday.

Bomb disposal teams safely removed the bomb, which measured 1ft in length and six inches in diameter, at just after 3.30pm, a Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said.

The force spokesman said: “We received a call at 1.35pm yesterday from someone saying they believed they had discovered a Second World War shell in a field. They suspected it was unexploded.

“Police attended and the bomb disposal team was called at 3.30pm. The bomb and the rifle bullet were safely taken away.”
