Two men have been arrested after a 19-year-old man was stabbed in Haverhill last night.

Police were called to the scene outside in a car park off Ixworth Road, near Butley Court, on the Clements Estate, at around 10.20pm on Monday, September 4.

The victim – a 19-year-old man – was stabbed in the arm, sustaining a potentially life-changing injury. He was taken to hospital where he remains for treatment.

“A 19-year-old man was stabbed in the arm in an attack outside Leiston Community Centre,” she said.

“His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

“He was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital as a precaution.

“Two men from London have been arrested on suspicion of GBH.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”

The two teenagers were arrested at around 1.15am this morning after attending an address in Butley Court.

The two, a 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy who are both from the Wembley area of London, were arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service, said: “We were called to Haverhill at 10.17pm yesterday to a report of a man with an arm injury.

“A rapid response vehicle and ambulance crew were dispatched.

“They treated a man who was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for further care.”
