Two Suffolk school pupils were injured in a sporting collision this morning, prompting a call out for the air ambulance.

The East of England Air Ambulance landed in Holbrook Primary School just before 11.45am to treat one of the injured boys.

“Dr Antonio Bellini and critical care paramedic Rod Wells were flown to the scene by Captain Steve Norris and landed in a school playing field just before 11.45am,” said a spokesman for the charity.

“The young boy was treated at the scene before he was left in the care of the EEAST land ambulance team on scene to convey to Ipswich Hospital.

“His condition is described as stable.”

Holbrook Primary School told Suffolk County Council that the other boy’s injuries were not serious enough to require hospital treatment.
