A vulnerable 74-year-old who did not return home after going to buy a newspaper this morning has been found.

Richard Perry left his home in Arundel Way, Ipswich, at around 8.30am with his Jack Russell dog.

He visited a newsagent in Broke Hall Road at 9am but did not return home. He was reported missing by his family at 12.20pm who had concerns for his welfare as he has short-term memory loss.

A Suffolk police spokeswoman confirmed that Mr Perry was found near to the A12 at Foxhall, with his dog, by a member of the public who had seen the appeal.

She added: “We would like to thank everyone for their support with this missing person enquiry.”
