A child has suffered leg injuries after a road accident in Ipswich this morning.

The girl, believed to be 12, was walking along Belvedere Road near the junction with Tuddenham Road when they were involved in a collision with a blue Vauxhall Corsa shortly before 8.30am.

Paramedics treated the girl on the scene before taking her to Ipswich Hospital.

“Her condition wasn’t thought to be life threatening,” said a spokesman for East of England Ambulance Service.

The road was closed but has since reopened.
