Arson probe after blaze at flats in London Road, Ipswich
Update: Flat which was gutted by fire was housing ‘vulnerable’ people

A MAN was arrested this morning on suspicion of arson after a fire at a community care flat in the town.
More than 30 firefighters were scrambled to the top of a four-storey building in London Road, shortly before midnight.
Fears the flat’s occupants were at home meant six fire appliances were scrambled to help.
However within half-an-hour fire crews reported everyone had been accounted for.
Police later arrested a 22-year-old Ipswich man on suspicion of arson. He is currently being questioned at Suffolk police’s Martlesham Heath headquarters.
A spokeswoman for the Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said the flat was housing ‘vulnerable people’.
