A lane of the A14 westbound has now re-opened following its closure after an accident earlier this morning.
The road was closed between the B1113 Bramford Road junction and the A140 turn off, causing traffic tail backs.
Suffolk police said two cars were involved in the incident and it is believed that a trailer being towed by one of the vehicles became unattached.
It is not yet known how many people were involved in the collision but no-one was seriously injured.
Police said the highways agency had been called and had closed the lane while an oil or petrol spillage trailing back for around half a mile relating to the accident, was cleared up.
