A man has been charged with a bomb hoax offence following an incident at a leisure centre in Sudbury on Friday evening.
Police were called to the leisure centre at approximately 9.45pm with a report that a man had entered the premises at around 8pm earlier that evening and made threats to a staff member and thrown a small ignited item into a room.
The item was extinguished immediately and no damage was caused or injuries sustained by anyone.
James Hasler, 33, from Woodhall Road, Sudbury has been charged with a bomb hoax offence, as well as production and possession of a controlled class B drug - in this case cannabis.
He has been remanded and will appear at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates Court on Monday.
As part of their enquiries police cordoned off an address in Woodhall Road while a bomb disposal team carried out checks. This cordon has now has been lifted.
