During the morning Greater Anglia said trains were being delayed by up to 30 minutes because of a signalling equipment fault at Trowse, near Norwich. An earlier train break down had also caused problems.

In a tweet sent just before 12.30pm, the company said: “Signalling probs near #Norwich have been fixed but trains may be delayed by up to 20 mins. Disruption is expected until 15:30”.

In a statement on its website earlier, the company said: “We would like thank you for your patience and understanding while we deal with these incidents.”

  • The transport infrastructure in this country and especially in East Anglia, is a joke. Our railways must be the worst in Europe. The hype of HS2 is the Government's way of papering over the cracks, hoping the vast majority of rail users will not notice the deplorable state of the rest of the network.

  • Its just buck passing Rob, always somebody else too blame. Fragmentation is one of the major disasters of Rail privatisation. Abellyup just blame someone else and leave you stuck and hanging around.

  • Read the report, Disbeliever - signalling problems, which are down to Network Fail, not Greater Anglia

  • Yet another typical day in the ruins of Abellyup Greater Anglia!! Its just got worse and worse every single day for weeks now. Why does this area not have a professional Rail operator anymore?
