DRIVERS have experienced delays around the Port of Felixstowe today (Monday September 10) after a lorry and its trailer overturned.
The passenger of the HGV is believed to have suffered a serious head injury but it is not thought to be life-threatening.
The driver of the HGV injured his shoulder and had cuts and bruises.
The articulated vehicle, belonging to GMA Warehousing and Transport, was blocking part of the junction of Trinity Avenue with the Dock Gate Two roundabout.
Police were on the scene directing traffic.
Although one part of the Ferry Road access was blocked, cars and lorries were still able to use the road.
The accident happened at around 1.30pm. Police at the scene said a heavy lifting crane had been called to right the 38-tonne lorry and the operation was expected to take place about 3pm.
East of England Ambulance crews took the passenger to Ipswich Hospital and the driver was treated by the roadside.
