A gas leak in a Suffolk field which forced the closure of a road was repaired overnight.
Police and National Grid engineers were called to Wangford Road, Reydon, near Southwold, at around 4.10pm yesterday following reports of a gas leak in a nearby field.
Officers closed the road and set up diversions while engineers tackled the gas leak.
Temporary repairs were completed by 4am and the road reopened, a National Grid spokesman said.
The leak did not affect any surrounding properties, the spokesman added.
Engineers are set to return later today to carry out permanent repair work.
