HOMEOWNERS waited anxiously to see if their properties would be flooded today after a water main burst at Trimley St Martin.

Motorists faced disruption as police closed off a section of HIgh Road following the incident at 6.18am.

The stretch between the roundabout at Howlett Way and the St Martins Green junction was shut with water about five inches deep across the carriageway and pavements.

While drivers faced difficulties, pedestrians could still get through by taking footpaths through the nearby estate.
