A WOMAN was cut free after a two-car smash near Ipswich.

A silver Volkswagen Golf collided with an Audi TT in Gipping Road, Great Blakenham, around 3pm on Friday.

The woman, in her 40s, suffered neck, back and leg pain and was taken to Ipswich Hospital.

The road was blocked and there were reports of diesel on the carriageway. But, as of 5pm, the road had been cleared.

Firefighters, as well as freeing the woman, also put out a small blaze in the engine of one of the cars.
