A fake video purporting to be a leaked National Trust advert could draw tourists to some of Suffolk’s top landmarks, historical buildings and dramatic coastline this summer.

An image of the instantly recognisable Ickworth House included in the fast-paced, high-energy video, part of a mythical ‘Expect the Unexpected’ campaign.

Images of rocks and sand, seascapes and countryside scenes, and even tea and rabbits, all flash across the screen, showing the broad spectrum covered by the national heritage charity.

The video received thousands of views within the first few hours of it being ‘leaked’ on YouTube.

However, the National Trust has denied that it produced the video.

A National Trust spokesman said: “It’s definitely not one of ours, but it has certainly made us all chuckle.

“We look after special places for everyone to enjoy, whether it’s rocks, sand, tea or wildlife.

“The comments on social media have all been very positive, and it certainly gives people the chance to have a different look at the National Trust. It’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s brought a smile to our faces.”

The spokesman added: “We didn’t make the video, but we do hope people enjoy watching it and are encouraged to visit our places after watching it.“

The National Trust looks after historic houses, gardens and forests right across the UK, including Lavenham Guildhall, Ickworth House, Sutton Hoo, areas of Flatford and Constable Country, Dunwich Heath, Orford Ness and the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds.
