Suffolk star Ed Sheeran will appear on an episode of the world famous American cartoon series on Sunday, January 7.

A brief trailer has been released which shows Ed Sheeran’s character Brendan playing the piano alongside Lisa Simpson.

The episode is called Haw-Haw Land a parody to the film La-La Land – it will be a musical-themed episode and the Shape of You singer will be love interest for Lisa.

Executive producer Al Jean previously told news website Entertainment Weekly that Ed Sheeran recorded his part over the phone from England.

The 26-year-old is a fan of the show and has a tattoo of Blinky, a three eyed fish, who makes appearances in the show.

This isn’t Ed Sheeran’s first TV role; the star also featured in an episode of Game of Thrones in July last year.
