A man has been hospitalised after a one-vehicle crash in Wherstead


One man has been airlifted to hospital after a crash on the A137 in Wherstead.


The accident took place near the Coronation cottages around 3.10pm and the road is closed between B1456 The Strand and Church Road.

The accident involved only one vehicle, a blue Ford Fiesta which rolled over. A man in his 20s was administered critical care after two paramedics, an ambulance and the East Anglian Air Ambulance arrived. It is believed he suffered a back injury.

The EAAA airlifted the man, who was in a serious to life-threatening condition, to Addenbrooke’s Hospital trauma centre in Cambridge.

Recovery work is ongoing at the scene and there are traffic delays.
