Woodbridge: Body found in water

THE body of a woman has been found in water near a boatyard this morning.

Suffolk Police were contacted at around 10.50am by the coastguard who were responding to reports of a body in the river in Woodbridge.

Officers attended the scene and assisted the coastguard in removing the body from the water.

The woman is believed to be in her fifties and police are in the process of informing her next of kin.

At this stage the death is being treated as unexplained but there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.
