A MAN suffered a potentially serious head injury after falling from a mobility scooter.

The man, believed to be in his 70s was treated by East of England Ambulance Service crews at Woodbridge Library at 2.55pm today.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: “This was potentially a very serious injury and our crews did brilliantly to respond as quick as they did. Thankfully the man’s condition is not thought to be life-threatening and he was transported to Ipswich Hospital for further treatment.”

  • These so-called "vehicles" are a menace to their drivers and pedestrians alike. Not only should the design make them safer and more stable, but they should be restricted to cycle lanes. People using them should also be required to wear helmets for their own safety as well as for the safety of others.
