Hotel, golf and leisure facility Ufford Park Woodbridge has received a three star rating from Visit England, having switched its association to the national tourism body from the AA.
Ufford Park, which is now marketing itself independently, having recently left the Best Western brand, said membership of Visit England brought with it discount schemes offering significantly reduced costs.
In addition, the Visit England star rating scheme included the opportunity to secure extra awards such as Gold and Silver ratings within a star banding, it added.
“Properties that receive these are thought to be ‘the best of the best’ and so Ufford Park are going to be striving to achieve these to show to the public the quality of what they are able to offer for a three star hotel,” said director Tarnia Roberton.
“No matter what our current star rating is, we can still strive to improve our product by aiming for three star Gold. This would also be a natural progression for us should we decide to move into the four star market in the future.”
Next up, however, Ufford Park will be aiming to secure the Visit England Breakfast Award which recognises breakfasts that exceed guest expectations at each star rating by excellent range, presentation, quality of ingredients and service.
Ufford Park narrowly missed out being awarded this at its first Visit England inspection. However, said Tarnia: “There was literally one thing to improve on to win this prestigious award, so I am very confident that we will achieve this at our next inspection. Certainly our guests regularly comment about our superb breakfasts so I am very hopeful.”
Ufford Park is set in 120 acres of parkland and includes 90 en-suite bedrooms, an 18-hole championship par-71 golf course, with a two-tier floodlit driving range, an American Golf superstore and The Doctorgolf Teaching Academy, and a health club including a gym, an indoor deck-level swimming pool, a sauna, a steam room and hot tub and a thermal suite spa.
