Fire in Ipswich

A workshop fire damaged three industrial units in a Suffolk business park this evening.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue was alerted to the blaze at Brook House Business Park in Hadleigh Road, Ipswich at about 6.30pm.

Crews from Princes Street and Ipswich East arrived to find smoke billowing from the roof of three units and called for assistance. Two more crews from Princes Street attended along with the control unit and a pump from Woodbridge.

Eight firefighters entered the burning building and located the fire in the middle unit, which was out just before 8pm.

The neighbouring properties suffered smoke damage and crews stayed on site to carry out a fire watch.
