SHOPFITTERS are putting the final touches to the new Lush store due to open in Ipswich next week - and the news has excited our readers.

Via our Facebook page, we asked: Will the latest addition to Ipswich town centre bring in the shoppers?

Joseph Mulligan was the first to respond and said: “What’s the latest addition to Ipswich town centre?”

In response, Michelle Riseborough said: “Lush is the name of the store we are getting! Going into the old orange store on Tavern Street.”

Lou Mills said: “I doubt it, I suppose it would be OK if you have lots of spare cash to buy the expensive items in this shop..... I will stick to Dove.”

But Michelle explained: “Stuff I buy from there lasts longer than other items so works out cheaper in long run.”

Julie Stammers added: “It’s quite expensive but I would probably use it if had to buy a gift, doubt make much difference to town centre tho!”

Agreeing, JoAnne Nolan said: “I love the stuff from Lush so am happy to read one is opening in town. Anyone know when?”

Another fan of Lush is Karen Cook, who said: “I have been waiting for years for Lush to come here I love all their products and travel miles to get to one or buy on line. They open on the 23rd Nov.”

  • Will this one shop bring people into the town? I very much doubt it! I for one will avoid it as the smell around Lush shops is far too strong for me, can't stand the place!

  • Whoopdee doo. Can't imagine it will change the fortunes of a dying town centre. What Ipswich lacks is mobile phone shops, coffee shops and we could really benefit from a few Tesco Express stores.....

  • Love Lush. I can't wait. No nasty additives in their products, & the extra cost is worth it for good quality.
