With the January transfer window set to slam shut at 11pm tomorrow, here’s a look at all the players linked with a move both to the club and away over the past month...

The month started with a link to free agent midfielder Danny Guthrie as the Blues faced a midfield injury crisis with the likes of Teddy Bishop and Emyr Huws rocked by season-ending injuries.

As it turned out, Guthrie signed for Indonesian side Mitra Kukar!

Next up was a link to Cardiff City forward Anthony Pilkington, with boss Neil Warnock said to be keen to get the Republic of Ireland international off the books.

With Cardiff apparently leading the chase for David McGoldrick, could this one be revived on deadline day as part of a swap deal?

Another midfielder link was next on the rumour mill, with the Blues apparently considering free agent winger David Cotterill, most recently on the books at Birmingham.

With a number of Championship clubs interested, Cotterill eventually signed for Indian Super League side ATK.

Another midfielder linked is Middlesbrough’s Adlene Guardioura, said to be out of favour at Boro.

The Algerian international has yet to make a move, and was today linked to Nottingham Forest. Town have since signed Stephen Gleeson, so the trail looks to have gone cold there for the Blues.

Most recently, the links have all been departures - with McGoldrick’s future the main issue that is still to be resolved ahead of transfer deadline day.

- MORE: McGoldrick linked with four clubs

He’s been linked with four Championship sides - Cardiff, Fulham, Birmingham and Sheffield Wednesday. Town are said to be willing to let him leave for £500,000.

One place he won’t be going is Aston Villa, who cooled their interest today.

For a while it looked as though keeper Bartosz Bialkowski could join McGoldrick in the ‘will he, won’t he?’ deadline day category as he was strongly linked with a move to Crystal Palace - a story confirmed by boss Mick McCarthy.

But much to most fans’ relief, Bialkowski agreed a new deal with the Blues last week - surely securing his future at the club for at least the rest of the season.

The most recent link, of course – and somewhat unexpectedly – is star defender Adam Webster being touted with a £4m move to Bristol City, if they sell their star Aden Flint, with Derby County said to be leading the chase for him.

Any move for Webster would surely require a replacement to come in – especially with Tommy Smith on his way to Denver.

Finally, Town were yesterday said to be on the verge of signing non-league starlet Kai Brown from Grays Athletic, having seen off competition from several Premier League sides.

Brown, just 16, would be unlikely to go straight into the first team reckoning though - but a definite one to watch in future.
