UNITED: Town players, including sub Jimmy Bullard, celebrate Lee Martin's second on Saturday

HE might have made 213 starts for arch rivals Norwich City and enjoyed a wonderful unbeaten run against Ipswich – up until Saturday.
But Cardiff City man Malky Mackay has given his backing to Town’s unlikely assault on the top six of the Championship.
The Blues moved up to 16th after their comprehensive 3-0 win over Mackay’s men on Saturday.
And while they remain 11 points off Birmingham in sixth, fans are at least looking up rather than down for almost the first time this season.
And Mackay said: “Ipswich are a good team with stacks of experience so I don’t see why they can’t make the play-offs.
“With 15 games to go, I think anyone of good value can make the play-offs – and Ipswich are that.
“Teams go on a good run and all of a sudden they can go from 18th to the top area. It is a tight league and it will go right down to the wire.”
Mackay lost his first match against Ipswich in 14 attempts as player and manager on Saturday thanks to two from Lee Martin and another for Michael Chopra.
But he had nothing but praise for the club, despite his roots elsewhere in East Anglia.
He said: “I enjoy coming to Portman Road. The club has always been fairly kind to me, considering I am an ex-Norwich player.
“There are good people here. It is always a lovely pitch and it is always a good game because the crowd is always vociferous and there is always lots of them.
“We knew we were playing a side who were on a roll, who had beaten the league leaders 5-1. I knew it was going to be a tough game.
“In the first half, we played well. But we knew we should have been much better in the second half when we were second to most balls.”
TICKETS for an evening of Olympic celebration are about to become available, as the fabled flame winds its way across the country towards us.

Come on now that's enough comments on you know who, ignore him, never mention him, just let him fade away or try his luck with Colchester.

Mellow Yellow - You should be more worried about your manager than ours. Having done such a great job it won't be long before a big club with a history of winning things both domestically and in Europe comes calling. He would never turn down the opportunity to manage a proper club with both a history and a trophy cabinet something you sadly lack....Yep you guessed it he will be lured away from Nodge and down the A12 to ITFC. BTW yellow shirts have only two uses - 1. when the cleaner needs a new mop head 2. When the toilet attendant needs a new bog roll. Now go away.

Steroo is a Norwich fan and is addicted to trolling this messageboard. He gets a little thrill when people pay him attention because I imagine in real life he is totally ignored and irrelevant, doing a dead end job. His views are not worthy of comment and I suggest that people simply ignore this Norwich supporter who is trying to wind up Ipswich fans and get a reaction. That way, he will hopefully go away. I for one will refuse to respond.

Steroo must really gain pleasure from his pointless comments. Credit to Mackay, he has a good team there, especially in their midfield.

Come on Guys. Steroo has been spouting his drivel for years now and I made a conscious decision to not comment on the biased junk pouring from his spout a long while ago. It does not matter what you say he will continue. Just don't feed his ego by responding.

It is totally unknown for Steroo to give credit where it is due and against his principles as far as ITFC is concerned. I consider his comments totally a waste of space.

Ken that is because Young master Malky is exactly the sort of manager Town should have gone for... after all he has built a far more successful team than Jewell in less time with far less money. And he can say the sort of patronising rubbish that gets deluded fans so excited as well.

See, Steroo, some Norwich people can be open-minded and generous. Learn from them.
