Glenn Driver felt that the 5-2 scoreline in this afternoon’s Suffolk derby flattered Needham Market, writes Alex Moss.

The Leiston boss watched his side move back into the Bostik League Premier Division play-off places, after coming from a goal behind to beat their rivals at Bloomfields.

“I think 5-2 flattered them a little bit,” he said. “Needham played 4-5-1 at home and sat in and let us have the ball.

“When teams sit in and let us have the ball we’re always going to cause problems. When you’ve got midfielders like Byron Lawrence you’re always going to create opportunities.”

Needham manager Richard Wilkins reflected: “We got a fortunate start to go ahead, but we needed to press on and we didn’t.

“It’s difficult to have a go at my players because four of the lads who started shouldn’t have played, but I asked them to dig deep for us today.”
