The Ipswich owner talks about sacking – and backing – managers, mistakes in the transfer window and the out-of-contract players fiasco.

He also reserves praise for chief executive Simon Clegg, explaining why he appointed him in the first place, and also speaks for the first time about whether a director of football is right for Town.

  • Yes... Always thought we treated Roy Keane atrociously....if ever a manager deserved the time ME has given to PJ it was RK. Something wrong here, no logic. Great result last night by the way, but nearly half a season to wait... Hopefully we won't need to wait the same length of time from now!

  • It is surprising that there is not a flood of comments on this site about the answers Evans gave to the EADT list of questions. Perhaps supporters have given up caring or are satisfied and convinced Evans and his two wonder boys are still on course to take us to the 'promised land' Or is it that the EADT site moderators have with held an avalanche of criticism that Evans might object to ? It is hoped that EADT did send him a free copy last evening so that he shouldn't have to part with another 60p after all the hectic spending he has financed during this month's transfer window.

  • The truth? The truth is that he bought the club as a vanity project hoping (somehow magically) to walk away later at a profit. Now the grim truth of relegation is beckoning he's desperately trying to show he know's what he's doing. Even statistical analysis shows that the squad isn't even worth the sum of its parts

  • EADT how is it my posts are frequently rejected by your Site moderator and not those of the yellow & green posters on this site?

  • Still would like an answer to the RK question as the facts are 2010 under RK W22 D12 L19.( most successful calendar year since 2004) and semi of major cup comp and past the 3rd rnd of Fa Cup !!!! The publicity and commercial pull plus the fact that the opposition raised their game against us because of RK factor , I think shows that he was doing a decent job and was correct in saying 'I was getting it right'. 2011 under PJ W19 D7 L28 - 2012 W0 D1 L4 . Anyone like to comment??

  • Basically, ME has said I own the club, Simon Clegg is awesome and Paul Jewell is staying, whatever happens. So we are doomed.
