Frank Nouble scored a hat-trick as Ipswich Town Under-21s defeated their Colchester United counterparts in a seven-goal thriller, 4-3, at Portman Road on Monday.
Town midfielder Andy Drury grabbed the Blues’ other goal, firing the hosts ahead after 17 minutes, before six goals followed in an amazing second half.
Nouble doubled Town’s lead three minutes after the break, before Jordan Sanderson reduced the deficit for the visitors.
Nouble then hit his second and Town’s third just before the hour before Alex Gilbey and Jack Compton brought Colchester level.
Town weren’t to be denied though and Nouble grabbed the winner 12 minutes from time.
Trialists Ade Yuseff and Mawete Nkunga both started for Town, while Tottenham youngster Victor Zapata-Caicedo joined the action as a substitute.
Ipswich Town target Jay Tabb will leave Reading when his contract expires on July 1, the Royals have announced.

Cant say it isn't exciting. Surely the whole point of divisions is that they should be competitive, ie closely fought with little to choose between teams. Of course being a Watford fan must be a hoot at the moment but hey it goes around and comes around. Town is the team we support for good or bad, that is the whole blxxxxy point. Steroo and Ged dont seem to get it but then as i say i suspect they are one and the same person, Roy Keane.

Let's be frank about Frank and the depressingly few other contracted young players who might be good enough and will actually be here next season. Of course they should be playing and of course they should have been playing since November when it became blindingly apparent that there were sufficient useless teams in this dreadful division to prevent Town getting relegated despite Yorkshire Jewell's best efforts to demoralise his mediocre team by alienating the contracted players and shoehorning in a bewildering number of utterly useless and pointless loans in ever increasing quantity and ever-decreasing quality.

Really are you being serious??? scores a hat-trick against who??? oh yes Colchester that super team just down the road lol My god town must be getting desperate now lingering just above the drop zone and cannot score goals for love of money. Signing a superstar from Man Utd clown mccarthy has lost the plot completely, especially as he is a defender who has failed at 10 lower clubs than town! 34 goals all season by town in the league a pathetic amount, now he might sign another ball boy on who knows he might get his chance in the forward line. Well cannot be much worse than the shower already there can he town fans!!! lol

Cyril. The reason I mentioned thousands (sorry to bring myself into it, only now do I realise it's actually ALL about you) but only when there are a considerable number of votes will such big jumps not happen, and the voting has to start somewhere. Clearly it excited you so much you had to jump in quickly.

Mon dieu, some of you guys ought to get out more. Are you really debating how many poll votes each name is worth? As it happens, as the Main Man, my view is of course more superior than anyone else's, which is why the EADT Web Supremo decided I should use this name instead of my real name of James Bond, which could otherwise have been confused with my famous brother, Premium.

What exactly is the point of these polls? - other than to fill some space that the reporting staff seem incapable of filling with worthwhile information and news. At least in the EDP Archant creates the illusion of a well read paper by duplicating and often triplicating entries. The lack of credible articles and resultant posts should surely prompt Archant to realise just how poor the EADT is and what poor coverage they give ITFC. It also seems strange just how many pro Norwich posts from the likes of Rob Steroo and Ged Scott (or is it the much despised Ged Steroo from the EDP?) that sees their way onto this site.

Every one in the team seems to be running scared, hence all the negative play, and the manager, you can see it in their demeanour. Yes, give him a start at least. Perhaps we could go easy on the big hoofs up field from the back, and lets see what strikers can do with balls to feet.
