YOUNG Ipswich striker Ronan Murray has admitted he is “stuck in the middle” as Swindon Town look to thrash out a deal with the Blues.

Murray has now returned to Town after a successful loan spell which yielded two goals in 10 appearances.

Robins boss Paolo Di Canio last week admitted he would like to sign the striker and Paul Jewell seems likely to sanction a permanent move – if the price is right.

Intriguingly, the Town manager might look to use Murray as a makeweight for any move for Swindon winger Matt Ritchie.

The highly-rated 21-year-old further enhanced his reputation yesterday with a brace in Swindon’s 2-1 at Rotherham.

After Jewell yesterday revealed he had made bids for three unnamed players from two clubs, internet speculation linked him with Ritchie and team-mate Paul Caddis, who has also impressed this season.

It remains to be seen whether they are the duo Jewell has gone in for and how this affects Murray’s own future.

But the young Town striker last night tweeted: “Now going back to Ipswich because my loan is up today. The clubs are talking at the minute so I’m stuck in the middle!!.”
