Ipswich Rugby Club have been promoted to London 1 North, winning the London 2 North title with a game to spare.
Johnny Breedt’s men went into yesterday’s game at Holt in second place, behind leaders Saffron Walden, but knew that victory in their final two games would seal the championship.
However, it did not come to that with Ipswich making no mistake in Norfolk, winning 39-19, and Saffron slipping up at Chelmsford, losing 38-31.
Ipswich’s final game of the season is at South Woodham Ferrers on April 26.
More reaction in Tuesday’s Ipswich Star and EADT and in Friday’s Love Rugby.
