SUFFOLK Olympian Anthony Ogogo is on his way to becoming a ‘global boxing star’ after signing a professional deal with the legendary Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions.

Ogogo, 24, said tonight: “I am delighted to be signing with the premier promoter in boxing, Golden Boy Promotions.

“2012 has been without doubt one of the greatest years of my life.

“To represent my country at a home Games was an incredible experience and the bronze medal I won will always be close to my heart.

“Following the Olympics I’ve been looking to the future and considering a number of options, and feel that the time is now right to turn professional with Golden Boy.”

Richard Schafer, Golden Boy CEO, said: “Anthony Ogogo has everything you look for in a boxer.

Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy believes Newcastle United are destined for the Championship title after his team were comfortably beaten 3-0 at St James’ Park this afternoon.

The extra quality of Championship table-toppers Newcastle United showed as Ipswich Town were comfortably beaten 3-0 at St James’ Park this afternoon.

Ipswich will be looking to notch up another win after defeating Burton, while Newcastle will be aiming to stay top of the table, but both sets of fans will be remembering the former manager their clubs shared – Sir Bobby Robson.

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy says it would be tantamount to tactical suicide to go all-out attack at Championship table-toppers Newcastle United this afternoon.

Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy has everything crossed that the fit-again Daryl Murphy does not come back to haunt his side at Championship table-toppers Newcastle United tomorrow.

At last! Ipswich Town have scored some goals – and after 10 months Freddie Sears even managed to grab one as well, much to the delight of himself and his teammates.

Being a dad helped Freddie Sears switch off from football during his recent 38-game goalless spell.

Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy admits he was a relieved man after his team finally got back to winning ways tonight.

Ipswich Town returned to winning ways, ending a five-game goal drought, as Luke Chambers and Freddie Sears scored in each half of a 2-0 home triumph over Burton Albion.
